Joint + Cardan

When the driven machine is not aligned with the first engine and when long distances need to be bridged, cardan shafts are used.
With a diesel engine as the primary motor, a very flexible joint is required to shift resonances and dampen torsional vibrations.
This joint protects the cardan shaft and the driven machinery from unacceptable vibration loads.
This type of highly flexible joint has been specially developed for use in combination with cardan shafts.
The main components of the joint are the highly flexible element and the internal and external joints supported against each other.
The elements have high torsional flexibility and good damping properties.
Additional damping is achieved on the support.

Combined with a cardan joint, installation is very simple, as can be seen from the attached photos.
